The Contest is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108 tiles, set in Restoration of Erathia at Expert difficulty. Four colors take part. Up to three can be human, and Teal is reserved for the computer with Inferno, Necropolis and Dungeon. The other three colors get random factions. Water covers about 35 percent of the surface, and rock, subterranean and rough ground make up most of the rest. Players win by capturing a specific town and lose once all their towns and heroes are gone. The author's hint points to a legendary Cloud Temple that grants Poseidon's trident. Other highlights include the Greater Gnoll's Flail and 37 mines.
