The Black Hand is a Hard map for Armageddon's Blade, set on an extra large 144 by 144 grid with an underground level. Seven players take part: one human seat and six computer-controlled colors, arranged into two teams. Each color plays a different faction, namely Necropolis, Castle, Conflux, Fortress, Stronghold, Tower, or Rampart. Terrain is mostly rock, grass, lava, and rough ground, with very little water. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the human player loses if a specific town falls. The map contains 14 towns, 38 mines, and 26 heroes, along with wandering Phoenix and Orc Chieftain stacks and placed artifacts such as Angel Wings. The author's description presents the adversary as a shadowy dark lord with many titles that people are afraid to speak aloud.
