The Battle of Three Armies is an extra large, 144 by 144 map with an underground level, designed for expert play. Up to eight human players can join, split into three teams, each commanding one of eight towns: Castle, Tower, Rampart, Stronghold, Fortress, Dungeon, Inferno, or Necropolis. The description sets a dark time of looming war between the surface and the underworld, with mercenaries eager to strike a badly wounded hero. Victory means defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero. Water covers about 31 percent of the terrain. The map holds 34 towns, 72 mines, and the Grail, along with artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi and Angel Feather Arrows.

Author's description

The times are dark. War is imminent between the two worlds. And, eager for easy profits, the mercenaries are waiting to hit a neardeath Hero. Who will triumph? The Underworld? The surface? Or the mercenaries?
