The Alps is an Extra Large 144x144 map with underground levels, where rock covers about 40 percent of the land and water only 4 percent. The Renegade Wizards have withdrawn to the mountains' far corners, and players must find them and capture a specific town to win. Seven players can take part, six of them human, with Teal left to the computer; no teams are set. The factions are Conflux, Stronghold, Rampart, Inferno, Fortress, Castle and Tower, on Impossible difficulty. Expect 15 towns, 97 mines, 81 creature banks and 13 monoliths and portals, plus wandering stacks such as a Chaos Hydra, a Magog and a Cerberus. Losing all towns and heroes ends a game.
