The premise pits elemental deities against each other through mortal champions. Each player gets one of four factions: Tower for Red, Stronghold for Blue, Castle for Green, and Rampart for Purple, with no teams. Victory comes by flagging all mines; a player falls when all towns and heroes are lost. Terrain divides among water, subterranean ground, rock and lava. The land holds 20 towns, 101 mines and 12 creature banks, plus four placed orbs and 206 random monster stacks, with wandering elementals.
