A tyrant has invaded Britannia, and the player must gather forces to drive out his slimy followers and restore the land to Lord British. The map supports seven players, with one human player at most and six computer-controlled colors, arranged in three teams. Factions include Castle, Tower, Rampart, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold, Inferno, and Fortress, and one color receives a random faction. Terrain is split fairly evenly between dirt, grass, snow, and water, with water covering about 15 percent. Victory requires defeating a specific hero, and losing a specific hero ends the game. Notable finds include the Grail, Angel Wings, and the Ring of Infinite Gems, along with wandering dragons and hydras.
