Swamp Thing as Inferno — RoE

Swamp Thing as Inferno is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, rated hard, for three players with only one human seat; the other two colors are computer-controlled. The Inferno player faces the Tower and the Fortress, and the author notes the computer side has an easier path to the rich areas of the map, with each computer side starting with a pair of strong heroes. There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Rock covers about 48 percent of the terrain, water about 31 percent, and swamp about 6 percent. Ten towns, four starting heroes, and a Grail are placed, along with 44 mines, eight creature banks, and six monoliths or portals. Notable finds include angels among the wandering monsters and artifacts such as the Boots of Speed and the Golden Bow.
