Sorrow's End is a medium 72x72 map for eight players, each playing a different faction, with no teams and no computer-only colors, so all eight seats can be human. It has an underground level and is rated Expert. The author's description sets it in a world wrecked by falling meteors and fire from below after the death of a king, with little hope left. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Terrain is split among subterranean, water, lava and rock, with water covering about a sixth of the surface. The map holds 18 towns and nine heroes, and roams with stacks of Arch Devils, Power Liches and Magogs. Dwellings hold creatures such as Red Dragons, Behemoths and Hydras, and the Grail is placed on the map.

Author's description

In a time of darkness, following the recent death of Good King Richard, the world has been pelted by meteors and fire from the heavens. Little remained, and then the explosions from Hell itself burst upward from the underworld destroying even that. There is little hope...
