Simply the Best is a medium 72 by 72 map for two players, set on a level with an underground section and rated Impossible. Each player commands a Castle and Inferno pairing, and both sides begin under the same conditions. Victory comes from defeating every enemy, while a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The landscape is mostly grass, with swamp, snow and water covering smaller shares. The map is stocked with ten towns, five starting heroes, mines, Seer's Huts with quests, creature banks, monoliths and portals, and timed events. Wandering monsters include trolls, ice elementals and gold dragons, and many artifacts are scattered across the field.
