Seed of Hatred is a large underground-enabled map of 108 by 108 tiles, rated hard, for five players with four human seats at most, where the fifth color, Pink, is computer-controlled only. It has no fixed teams. Red plays Castle, Tan plays Tower, Green plays Rampart, Purple plays Stronghold, and Pink plays Dungeon. The author describes former allies turned against one another under a common overlord, and the goal is to defeat every enemy. A player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The land is mostly rock, with water covering about 17 percent and grass and subterranean ground making up much of the rest. Notable features include 33 towns, 82 mines, 21 creature banks, the Grail, and around 25 random artifacts, with wandering monsters such as Medusas, Pit Lords, and Fire Elementals roaming the map.
