River Cross is a large underground map measuring 108 by 108, designed for four players with no teams and all four seats open to humans. Each player takes one of four factions: Inferno for Red, Necropolis for Blue, Castle for Tan, and Tower for Green. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, while a player loses once all of their towns and heroes are gone. The terrain is mostly rock, with grass, dirt, and water making up the rest, and the water covers about an eighth of the surface. The map holds eight towns and wandering monsters such as Earth Elementals, Water Elementals, and Ancient Behemoths. Players will also find dwellings, numerous mines, creature banks, and placed artifacts including Angel Wings and the Cape of Velocity.
