Race — RoE

Overview

Written from the facts in this map's file

Race is an extra large underground map for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia, measuring 144 by 144 with roughly three quarters rock and the rest grass, and it contains no water. Six players take part, all Tower, and only one can be human, with the other five colors run by the computer. There are no teams. The victory condition is to capture one specific town, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The author describes the goal simply: the map is a race, and the way to win is to conquer an abandoned castle. Expect seven towns, six starting heroes, and 27 random monster stacks, with dwellings holding Gremlins, Iron and Stone Golems, Mages, Genies, Nagas, and Gold and Diamond Golems. Eleven random artifacts and the Grail are scattered across the map, along with 32 monoliths and portals.
