Pivotal Point — RoE

Pivotal Point is a medium underground map measuring 72 by 72, built for four players split into two teams, with all four seats open to human players. Each player starts with a random faction. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a side is eliminated once it loses all its towns and heroes. The author describes a central utopian region that allies should seize quickly and cleverly, and warns that slow play invites defeat. The terrain is mostly grass and snow, with sand patches and about a quarter water. Twelve towns, 46 mines, and 11 placed artifacts, including Angel Wings and a Tome of Fire Magic, are spread across the map, and roaming stacks of Diamond Golems and Mighty Gorgons add threats along the way.
