Operation SEARCH is an extra large Shadow of Death map measuring 144 by 144, played on the surface with no underground level. The author's note jokes about an errand with a vague goal, wandering off to fetch an unclear object in exchange for a large fortune. Eight players are set up, but only one can be human, and the other seven seats are computer-controlled, split into two teams. Factions include Necropolis, Tower, Rampart, Castle, Inferno, Fortress, Conflux, and Dungeon. Difficulty is set to Impossible. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses when all towns and heroes are gone. The map contains the Grail, Boots of Speed, Equestrian's Gloves, 140 mines, 48 towns, and several wandering dragons. Water covers about a fifth of the terrain.
