North Pole — SoD

North Pole is an extra large surface map of 144 by 144 tiles for five players, with four seats open to humans and the Blue player controlled by the computer. Every side uses a random faction, there are no teams, and victory requires defeating all enemies. A player loses once all towns and heroes are gone. Water covers about 58 percent of the map, with sand, swamp and rough ground making up much of the rest. The premise is a race northward to the pole, where the first hero to arrive earns experience, while a great king guarding the region attacks anyone who intrudes. Wandering elementals, dragons in dwellings, 31 mines and four seer huts are spread across the land.
