Its story centers on a kidnapping: the player's wife has been taken, and clues hidden on signs along the way point to the culprit, who must be defeated to win. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Terrain is mostly rock, water, sand, and subterranean ground, with water covering about 15 percent of the map. Notable features include 31 towns, 115 mines, 51 creature banks, 17 seer huts, 15 monoliths and portals, and wandering Titans and Archangels. Several artifacts are placed on the map, along with 80 random ones.
