Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
This Shadow of Death map is an Extra Large 144x144 surface level played on Impossible difficulty. It supports seven players, with one human player at most and the other six controlled by the computer. There are no teams. The factions are Castle, Conflux, two Strongholds, Dungeon, Inferno, and Fortress. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses if a specific hero is defeated. Dirt, grass, and rough ground cover most of the map, and water makes up about 15 percent. Nineteen towns and eight starting heroes are placed, along with wandering stacks of Ancient Behemoths, Ogres, and Rocs. Fifteen named artifacts are placed, including the Armor of Wonder and the Sword of Judgement, alongside 132 random artifacts, 83 mines, 20 creature banks, and 16 monoliths and portals.
