Dark Path is an extra-large Shadow of Death map measuring 144 by 144 tiles, with an underground level included. It is set for eight players in total, two of whom can be human, split into two teams. The computer-controlled colors are Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Teal, and the human-capable seats are Tan and Pink, with the factions spread across Inferno, Castle, Necropolis, Fortress, Rampart, Tower, and Dungeon. Rock covers roughly half the terrain and water about a third, with grass making up a small share. The map is played on Normal difficulty, and a player wins by defeating all enemies, while losing all towns and heroes ends a game. Its 17 towns, 37 mines, and four creature banks are joined by wandering stacks of trolls, minotaur kings, and ice elementals, plus a set of placed artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi and the Titan's Cuirass.
