Middle-Earth Mayhem is a medium 72x72 Armageddon's Blade map with an underground level, set for eight players across four teams, with up to four humans and the rest computer-controlled in Orange, Purple, Teal and Pink. The factions are Necropolis, Castle, Stronghold and Rampart, paired by team. Rock covers nearly half the terrain, with water, dirt and grass making up the rest. Thirteen towns and thirteen heroes are placed, and the map holds wandering stacks of trolls, orcs, rogues and others, along with dwellings such as dragons, dendroid guards and wood elves. Fourteen named artifacts, fifty random artifacts, 39 mines, a seer hut, a quest guard, four creature banks and eight timed events add to the play. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The difficulty is set to Normal.
