Four Mages is an Extra Large (144x144) map with an underground level, rated Easy. It supports five human players, with no teams and no computer-only colors. The realm has been split into four parts, and four rulers, each skilled in a different school of magic, are at odds with one another. An inexperienced pretender to the throne also appears. The factions are Conflux for Red, Dungeon for Orange, Necropolis for Purple, Tower for Teal, and Castle for Pink. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Subterranean terrain covers about half the map, with swamp, water, and snow making up much of the rest. Notable features include the Grail, wandering Azure Dragons, and artifacts such as the Power of the Dragon Father.
