Death of the Dragon is a small underground map of 36 by 36 tiles, set mostly in lava and rock. The goal is to defeat a specific great dragon warrior before the three-month limit runs out, which is 84 days in game terms. If the clock expires first, the game is lost. One human player can take part alongside a computer-controlled opponent, with no teams, and the difficulty is set to Impossible. Red plays Necropolis against Pink's Tower. Five heroes are placed on the map, and wandering enchanters are the most common threat. Dwellings hold vampires, liches, black knights, bone dragons and nymphs. Notable finds include the Armor of the Damned and the Orb of Vulnerability, and the map also has two towns, two seer huts, five quest guards and three creature banks.
