Free Kings is an Extra Large Heroes of Might and Magic III map measuring 144 by 144 tiles, with an underground level, set on Impossible difficulty for In the Wake of Gods. Six players take part, and at most three can be human, while Green, Orange and Purple are computer-controlled only. No teams are defined. Each player has a single faction: Castle, Dungeon, Fortress, Tower, Conflux or Necropolis. The terrain is split almost evenly among dirt, snow, sand and grass, with no water. The map contains 22 towns, 395 random monster stacks, 103 mines, eight monoliths and portals, and one creature bank, along with placed artifacts such as the Crown of the Supreme Magi. Victory comes from defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero.
