Phoenix Nirvana II (Trial Version) is a medium, surface-only map for Shadow of Death, measuring 72 by 72 tiles and dominated by grass, with smaller areas of sand, water and swamp. It is built for two players, with one human player at most and the other colour controlled by the computer. There are no teams, and both players are Necropolis. The story revolves around the Phoenix god being revived and a necromancer hero sent into enemy lands to stop the undead from using it against the Knights. The difficulty is Impossible. Victory requires defeating one specific monster, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. Notable features include five Firebird stacks roaming the map, a Lich dwelling, the Speculum and the Hourglass of the Evil Hour, and fourteen mines.
