Chronicles of the Rift: Emperor is a large 108 by 108 map for Shadow of Death with an underground level, rated Expert. Eight players take part, but only one can be human. The other seven are computer-controlled and split into three teams. Red plays Castle, Pink plays Conflux, and the other six players all field Towers. The map follows Sir Tywaro, who wakes in a strange world as an emperor and goes to war against mages, driven by a long-standing hatred, while searching for a great artifact. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and a player loses if a particular hero falls. Rock covers about a third of the terrain and water about 17 percent. The map holds 11 towns, 95 mines, 50 creature banks and six monoliths or portals.
