Темнота, whose name means Darkness, is an extra large underground map of 144 by 144 tiles, designed for Normal difficulty. Four players take part, all as Necropolis, with up to two controlled by humans while Blue and Tan are reserved for the computer. There are no team alliances. The author's description presents a story of three undead clans, and the player works to disrupt an elder clan's scheme as darkness spreads. Rock and dirt make up most of the terrain, with water covering about 16 percent and lava about 13 percent. The map holds 48 towns, 68 mines, and 92 monoliths and portals, plus wandering Infernal Troglodytes, Medusa Queens, and several dragon stacks. Victory requires flagging all mines, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes.
