Snowball is a small expert-difficulty map for Shadow of Death, set on a 36 by 36 grid with an underground level. Three players take part, but only one can be human: Teal is the human-capable slot, while Blue and Purple are computer-only. The two teams and all factions are assigned randomly. The author describes former friends turning on one another out of greed, forcing the player to fight them. Water covers about 53 percent of the terrain, with snow at 29 percent and rock at 18 percent. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. The map holds three towns, 32 mines, four seer huts, and 21 wandering monster stacks. An Azure Dragon guards a dwelling, and twelve artifacts are placed, including the Shield of the Dwarven Lords.
