Сампо — SoD
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
Сампо is a medium underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, designed for one human player against one computer-controlled opponent in the Purple colour, with both sides fielding Rampart towns. Its premise draws on the Kalevala, where the ruler of Pohjola sets out to win the Sampo, a treasure said to bring his land prosperity. The terrain is dominated by rock, with water, swamp and snow covering the rest, and three towns are scattered across it. Wandering monster stacks include Black Dragons, Royal Griffins, Ogres and Medusas, while dwellings offer Centaurs, Dwarves, Wood Elves, Dendroid Guards and Unicorns. Thirteen mines, nine seer huts and eleven creature banks add further resources. Victory requires transporting one specific artifact, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
