Five Principles is a medium 72 by 72 Shadow of Death map with an underground level, set at Normal difficulty. Its premise is that the wise masters who long supported King Scotval have been sealed inside two buildings far from the rest of the land after an internal conflict, and the goal is to reunite the kingdom and the art of magic. Four colors take part, with one human player at most. Red, Green and Orange are computer-controlled, and there are no teams. The factions are Necropolis, Castle, Stronghold and Tower. Water covers about 39 percent of the surface. Victory requires defeating a specific hero, and losing a specific hero ends the game. The map includes the Grail, eight towns, 40 mines, and artifacts such as the Ring of Infinite Gems and the Orb of the Firmament.
