"The Path to Recognition" is an Extra Large underground map for Shadow of Death, set on a 144 by 144 grid and rated Impossible. Its story follows a young elf named Milen, who sets out to study sorcery and magic on the way to a summit of knowledge. Eight players can take part, with one human seat and seven computer-controlled colors, arranged into three teams. The factions are Castle, Dungeon, Fortress, Rampart, Stronghold, and Tower. Heroes are capped at level 1. Rock covers nearly half the terrain, with grass, water, and swamp making up the rest. The map holds the Grail, 38 seer huts, 26 monoliths and portals, 10 towns, and a set of placed artifacts. Victory requires acquiring one specific artifact, and a player is defeated after losing all towns and heroes.
