The Adventures of Jared Hareth is a small 36 by 36 underground map for Shadow of Death, played at Impossible difficulty. Three players share the field, with only one human player allowed, and the Blue and Tan players are computer-controlled. There are no teams. Red plays Castle, Blue plays Dungeon, and Tan mixes Castle and Tower. Rock, snow, subterranean ground, and water make up most of the terrain. The author's description asks whether the famous explorer can escape a dark catacomb where it is easy to get lost. Wandering monsters include Minotaurs, Harpy Hags, and a Gold Dragon, and the map contains nine mines, four towns, four monoliths or portals, and artifacts such as the Titan's Cuirass. Victory requires capturing a specific town, and losing a specific hero ends the game.
