The Campaign Against Sauron is an Extra Large 144 by 144 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level and Impossible difficulty. Its backstory describes a long peaceful era in Middle-earth that ends when Sauron returns, leaving Aragorn as the only one who can drive him out. Four players take part, but only one can be human. Tan, Green, and Orange are computer-controlled, and the players form two teams. Blue and Tan play Castle, Green plays Rampart, and Orange plays Dungeon. Victory requires defeating a specific hero, and losing a specific hero ends the game. Rock and water cover most of the terrain, and the map holds 14 towns, 42 mines, and the Grail. Storm Elemental stacks roam the land, and artifacts such as the Elixir of Life are scattered across it.
