Flight of the Dragonfly is a medium 72 by 72 map for Shadow of Death with an underground level. According to the author, the story begins after fifteen years of fruitless searching for missing parents and, in a sense, for oneself, when the hero settles in the swamps around Saint-Vincent. Five players take part, with one human slot (Green, Fortress) and four computer-controlled colors: Red (Castle), Tan (Stronghold), Teal (Necropolis), and Pink (Dungeon). There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly swamp and rock, with some subterranean ground and little water. Highlights include seven towns, dwellings holding Angels and Beholders, and placed artifacts such as the Sword of Judgement and the Vial of Dragon Blood.
