Search for the Grail is a medium 72 by 72 map for Shadow of Death, with an underground level, played at Normal difficulty. Seven players can all be human, each controlling one of the Castle, Fortress, Rampart, Dungeon, Necropolis, Tower or Stronghold factions, and there are no teams. The goal is to find the Grail, which the description says was lost in the mountains, within twelve months, and running out of time loses the game. About ten percent of the map is water, with grass and rock covering most of the rest. The map holds 23 towns, 19 heroes, 36 mines, 13 creature banks and 14 monoliths and portals, and wandering nomads are the most common roaming force. The author warns that the local population may prove hostile.
