Islands of Illusion is an extra large 144 by 144 map with an underground level, rated normal difficulty. It supports eight players, seven of them human, and the Tan color is computer-controlled only. There are no fixed teams. Red plays Tower, Blue Castle, Green Dungeon, Orange Inferno, Purple Necropolis, Teal Fortress, and Pink Rampart, while Tan gets a random faction. Water covers about a third of the land. The author describes floating islands, odd rules, and unusual creatures. Wandering Fire Elementals are especially common, and the Grail is placed on the map. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero.
