Between the Rivers is a medium 72 by 72 map for four players, all of whom can be human, with no teams and a random faction for each color. Two rivers have marked a border between four realms for centuries, but an island formed by an earthquake between them sparked a war over the treasures kept in its depths. The map includes an underground level. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock and grass cover most of the terrain, with sand and water making up the rest. Expect four towns, 25 mines, 16 creature banks, six monoliths and portals, eight random artifacts, 80 random monster stacks, and wandering imp groups. The difficulty is rated expert.
