Linndel is a medium underground map of 72 by 72 tiles for Shadow of Death. It is set in a realm that has been thrown into turmoil by the death of its ruler, who had united the northern and central kingdoms. Weakened by rival claimants to the throne, popular unrest, and rising crime, the lands face invaders on the horizon. Six players take part across four teams, but only one seat is human, and the other five are computer-controlled. The factions are Stronghold, Castle, Necropolis, Dungeon, and Tower. Rock covers about a third of the terrain, with lava, rough ground, and water also present. The map holds fourteen towns, twenty mines, eleven seer huts, several monoliths and portals, wandering monsters, and artifacts such as the Crown of Dragontooth. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost if a specific hero is lost.
