Written from the facts in this map's file
Set after the collapse of Lord Cedric's great empire, this Extra Large underground map measures 144 by 144 and pits eight kingdoms against one another, with alliances forming and dissolving as often as they are made. Darkness has fallen over fields that were once fertile, and the aim is to defeat every rival and revive the old empire. All eight players can be human, with no teams, and each controls one faction: Tower, Castle, Stronghold, Rampart, Inferno, Necropolis, Fortress, or Dungeon. Rock covers nearly half the land and water about a quarter. Across the realm lie 18 towns, 13 heroes, and 83 random monster stacks, along with placed relics such as the Boots of Speed, the Sword of Judgement, and the four elemental tomes. Defeat comes when all of a player's towns and heroes are lost.
