Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
The Changing of Amaranth's Soul is a Hard, medium-sized map of 72 by 72 tiles for Shadow of Death, with an underground level. According to the author, a powerful witch has hidden her soul in a dwarf's body, and the goal is to destroy that dark spirit. Four players share the map, but only one can be human, while Red, Green and Orange are computer-controlled. Each side plays a different faction: Rampart, Tower, Fortress or Inferno, and there are no teams. About 52 percent of the terrain is water, and swamp covers much of the rest. Victory requires defeating one specific monster rather than the standard conditions, and the game is lost if time runs out after 140 days. Expect seven towns, 37 mines, the Grail, and 43 monoliths and portals, along with artifacts such as the Cape of Velocity and the Crown of Dragontooth.
