Arrogance is a medium underground map measuring 72 by 72 tiles, built for Shadow of Death and played at Impossible difficulty. Eight nations once lived in harmony, but one rose to power and decided the whole world should belong to it alone. Eight players take part, with at most one human and seven computer opponents, and there are no teams. The factions are Inferno, Castle, Tower, Dungeon, Stronghold, Conflux, and Fortress, with Blue and Purple both playing Castle. Swamp covers about a quarter of the land and water about a fifth. The Grail is placed on the map, along with six monoliths and portals, 28 mines, and four seer huts, plus artifacts such as the Dragon Scale Shield, Cards of Prophecy, and the Endless Purse of Gold. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost once all your towns and heroes are gone.
