"The Invasion Has Begun" is a medium 72x72 map with an underground level, built for Shadow of Death and set at Normal difficulty. Four players take part, one of them human, while Red, Tan, and Green are computer-controlled. Two teams compete, and the factions are Castle, Dungeon, Rampart, and Tower. The author's note is a short call to action about claiming dominion over the world above. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing every town and hero. Rock and dirt cover most of the terrain, with some subterranean and snow areas. The map holds 13 towns, 32 mines, two seer huts, one creature bank, and a timed event. Wandering stacks include Zealots, Manticores, and Angels, and artifacts such as the Speculum and the Cape of Conjuring are placed around the map. Hero level is capped at 30.
