At most one seat is human, and the Blue, Green and Purple colors are computer-only. The Necropolis player in Red faces Dungeon, Tower and Conflux opponents, split into two teams. The story follows the Lich Tal Rasha, who has gained undead kingship and must lead his vast army against the forces of Light. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and losing one specific hero ends the game. The terrain is mostly rock, grass, snow and rough ground, with no water. Notable features include 27 towns, 128 mines, 48 seer huts, 266 random artifacts, and 72 random monster stacks spread across the map.
