Eternal Lie is a medium underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, set in a kingdom thrown into chaos after its royal line ends. Rival clans each back a claimant, while lord Kelden alone holds proof of a true right to the crown. Seven players are split across five teams, with one human seat and six computer-controlled colors on Impossible difficulty. The factions are Stronghold, Tower, Rampart, Fortress, Inferno and Dungeon. Winning requires acquiring one specific artifact, and losing means forfeiting all towns and heroes. Rock covers much of the land, with grass, subterranean ground and water making up the rest. Seven towns and nine starting heroes share the map with roaming monsters such as Medusa Queens and Royal Griffins, along with mines, monoliths and artifacts like the Armor of Wonder.
