Duel is a medium two-player map of 72 by 72 tiles, played on an underground level at Normal difficulty. Only one human can take part, on the Purple side with Tower and Necropolis, against a computer-controlled Tan army of Stronghold, and there are no teams. The author's note describes Kilgor, who gained a good reputation after winning a festival and has advanced toward Lord Haart's lands, so the player must hold them off. Rock covers half the surface, with dirt, grass, and rough ground making up most of the rest, and water is a sliver. The map has seven towns, four heroes, and wandering dragons and a Phoenix among its monsters, along with artifacts such as the Sword of Judgement. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes.
