Gnomes Go for Honey is a medium underground map of 72 by 72 tiles, rated hard, for two players, though only one can be human. The computer-controlled side is Orange, playing Fortress, and the human side is Green, playing Rampart. There are no teams. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses by losing all towns and heroes. The author's description recalls a time long before great wars, when gnomes passed the time by fetching honey. Rock covers nearly half the map and water about a quarter, with grass and dirt making up the rest. The map includes eleven towns, one placed hero, the Grail, six named artifacts, and twenty-two random ones. Ten creature banks and four timed events add variety, and wandering dragon flies and scorpicores roam the land.
