Ring of Knowledge is a medium underground map measuring 72 by 72 tiles, made for the Restoration of Erathia version and set at Impossible difficulty. Up to eight human players can take part, with no teams and no computer-only colors. Each player begins with one of eight towns: Rampart, Stronghold, Fortress, Necropolis, Dungeon, Tower, Castle, or Inferno. Water covers half the surface, rock about 29 percent, and sand a smaller share. Wandering monsters include pairs of Gold Dragons, Black Dragons, Archangels, Titans, Ancient Behemoths, and Chaos Hydras, along with 48 random stacks. Eight artifacts and 23 mines are spread across the map. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player is eliminated after losing every town and hero.
