Emerald Islands is a medium surface map of 72 by 72 tiles, with water covering about 45 percent of its area. The islands lie along a major trade route, and several Barons want to take them over. The player's task is to talk them out of it. Four players can take part, all of them human-capable, with no teams and random factions for each colour. Victory requires defeating every enemy, and a player is eliminated after losing all towns and heroes. The map holds four towns and one placed hero, along with 24 mines, two creature banks, eight random artifacts, and 36 random monster stacks. Wood Elf, Ogre, and Lizardman dwellings stand on the land, and a Gnoll and a Grand Elf roam as wandering stacks. Three timed events are included. Difficulty is set to Normal.
