Légendes Anciennes, or Ancient Legends, is an Armageddon's Blade map on an extra large 144 by 144 grid, with an underground level and an Expert difficulty rating. Seven colors take part, six of them can be played by humans, and the Orange player is computer-only. There are no teams. Each color starts with a different town type, from Tower and Stronghold to Inferno and Rampart. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses when every town and hero is gone. The land is mostly rock, lava, sand, and snow, with very little water. Wandering demon stacks such as Arch Devils and Pit Lords roam the map, and the Grail and several powerful artifacts, including the Helm of Chaos, are placed among the 18 towns. The author's note urges players to heed the tavern keeper's advice and warns that evil lurks everywhere.
