Its story centers on a star-shaped alignment of the planets that casts a sinister aura over the world and recalls a great war fought five centuries earlier under King Sanspeur. Eight players, all of whom can be human, share the map with no teams. Each player controls one of the eight factions: Castle, Tower, Stronghold, Fortress, Rampart, Necropolis, Dungeon, or Inferno. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and a player loses when all towns and heroes are gone. The land is mostly water, lava, snow, and subterranean ground, with 40 towns and 138 mines. Notable finds include six Gold Golem stacks, several pieces of the Legion armor set, and the Titan's Cuirass.
