Le Labyrinthe des Enfers — RoE
Overview
Written from the facts in this map's file
The Labyrinthe des Enfers is an extra large underground map for four players, each controlling one side of a 144 by 144 battlefield, with all four colors played by humans and no computer-only seats. Every player's faction is random, and there are no teams, so victory comes from eliminating every rival. Losing means forfeiting all towns and heroes. The terrain is mostly rock, with about a third water and a smaller share of subterranean ground, so passages through the underworld are central to the layout. The author warns against getting lost in the tunnels or stumbling into an enemy's territory. Eight towns and eight heroes are placed, along with 79 mines, 42 creature banks, and nine monoliths or portals. Wandering monsters include Efreet Sultans, Dread Knights, and Thunderbirds, and dwellings hold creatures such as Angels, Hydras, and Behemoths.
