Lands of War and Plunder is an extra large 144 by 144 map for Restoration of Erathia, played on an underground level at Expert difficulty. Eight players share the world, with eight human seats available and no computer-only colors, grouped into three teams. Each player commands a different faction, from Inferno and Dungeon to Necropolis, Stronghold and Fortress. Water covers about 23 percent of the surface, with rock, subterranean ground and lava making up most of the rest. Victory requires defeating all enemies, and the game is lost if time runs out after 336 days. Sixteen heroes and 23 towns are placed across the map, guarded by wandering monsters such as Ghost Dragons, a Chaos Hydra and a Black Dragon. Several sets of Legion armor, the Sword of Hellfire and the Endless Sack of Gold are among the artifacts placed around the lands.
